MEMBER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES/TELLERS

FULL TIME & PART TIME

The positions report to the respective Branch Management according to location and will appeal to candidates who are interested in or are specifically seeking employment in the financial industry.  Our full time positions will appeal to those who are committed to a career in banking; our part time positions will appeal to those launching a future career path in banking and/or making part time employment a life-style choice. 

The Member Service Representative will provide professional, efficient service to Alterna members including responding to general enquiries, identifying their needs and referring them to the appropriate sales representative and processing a variety of transactions.  The incumbent will maintain a high level of knowledge with respect to Alterna Savings´ products, services and marketing programs/strategies enabling him/her to recognize potential opportunities to offer to members through referrals to other sales associates.  Maintaining member transaction service standards, adherence to operational and control policy procedures and guidelines are essential responsibilities in the role.

Requirements include excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Previous experience as a teller or working within a credit union or banking environment is definitely an asset, but candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, good computer skills and experience with handling cash will be considered.
