SCOPE OF POSITION

The Member Service Associate will build lifelong partnerships by managing a diverse portfolio of members in a proactive environment and meeting other member needs as they arise.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ ACTIVITIES

  • Member needs identification and fulfillment;
  • Approving loans & mortgages;                           
  • Selling  wealth and credit  products proactively;
  • Establishing and achieving performance goals in relation to new business and business retention;
  • Responding to member inquiries and promoting service excellence;
  • Mentoring junior staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education combined with 5 years related experience in a financial institution;
  • Or a high school diploma coupled with a minimum of 7 years experience in a member service related position at Alterna Savings or at another financial institution;
  • 3 to 5 years lending experience – recommending and/or approving both loans and mortgages;
  • Strong credit and investment knowledge;
  • Willingness to pursue additional learning programs;
  • Proven sales track record and knowledge of the sales process
  • Proven continuous learning courses such as IFIC, CSC, CFP, PFP or other related financial courses completed or enrolled (license not required) or willing to obtain within 12 months;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
