SCOPE OF POSITION:
As a self-motivated individual, you will manage and build on an existing book of business of select clients of Alterna. You will provide them with a needs based analysis sales approach to help them achieve their Financial Goals and Objectives. Your role will primarily focus around growing our branch based business for mass affluent Canadians however you are also expected to take an active role in developing business from outside sources. Your compensation consists of a fixed component and a variable component, which will be directly tied with your achieving your performance levels. You will be responsible for providing service to selected branches in the Toronto area.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ABILITIES:
The potential candidate will possess a post secondary education or related discipline in the financial services industry, with a minimum of 4 years experience in a financial planning and or advisory role. Preference will be given to the candidate that possesses at least 2 years experience with an Investment Dealers Association Firm (IDA). Otherwise, the requirement is that you are able to be licensed within 3 months.
You will posses a recognized professional financial planning designation or in the process of completion (within 6 months). Your expert knowledge in mutual funds and fixed income securities with the ability to apply investment concepts of asset allocation and diversification is a must.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Over 4 years experience in Financial Planning or Advisory Services.
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
- Already have or are able to obtain the remaining industry courses of Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH), Professional Financial Planning course (PFP) and the Certified Financial Planning Designation (CFP). You must also be eligible to be registered under the Investment Dealers Association (IDA).
