Engineer, Plant Process - Bellevue, OH

Responsible for:  

  • Diagnoses the root cause of production machine issues and develops and implements corrective action plans. This includes root cause analysis on issues, a combined effort with plant personnel on implementation of corrective actions and group follow up to insure the corrective actions were complete and thorough.
  • Re-engineers existing production systems to improve plant department yields.
  • Works on predictive and preventive maintenance processes, including periodic review of procedures and their execution.
  • Conducts line inspections and documents results. Assists in driving corrective actions when necessary.
  • Networks plants and/or vendors when issues arise that require outside support to resolve problems, i.e. quality, safety, mechanical and electrical.
  • Participates in designing new work systems that enhance plant performance, i.e. line tune-ups, improved PM processes, and improved change over processes, etc.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with plant personnel to support improved plant performance.

 

Requirements: 

  • Broad training in a related professional field of study usually acquired through work related experience or college level education. 
  • Job related experience for 1-3 years minimum. 
  • Experience with preferential heating. 
  • Experience and knowledge of the utilization of continuous improvement tools, such as SMED, TPM, 5S, and Six Sigma. 
  • Working knowledge of the following areas: engineering principles, practices, nomenclature and procedures; generally accepted managerial practices and procedures; product specification and equipment technology; injection and stretch blow molding, preferably Husky and Sidel machines in a multi layer PET environment; support equipment, i.e., dryers, compressors; PET manufacturing experience preferred; design of experiment, SPC, machine and process capability studies, industrial PLC and communication systems a plus.
