Description:

|
Duties- Under general supervision to perform work associated with electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems.
- Performs the skilled work associated with one of the electrical or instrumentation trades and their overlapping areas while providing assistance with skilled work specific to the other trades.
- Practices good housekeeping and observes general plant safety and health regulations.
- Assists in training apprentices or other employees as required.
- Carries out other related duties as required.
- Must maintain a prescribed tool kit.
Qualifications- Must have completed apprenticeship training or the equivalent and qualify as either a certified Power Lineman, Electrician or Instrument Mechanic with additional training and experience in at least one of the other trades.
- Must have skilled trades ability in a certified trade with demonstrated ability in other related trades.
- Must have a working knowledge related to the erection, setting and removal of poles as well as the installation and removal of crossarms, guys, hardware and insulators.
- Must have a working knowledge pertaining to the installation and removal of both overhead and underground transformers.
- Must be familiar with all working practices related to high voltage services and equipment.
- Must have the ability to safely handle reels of conductor and cable.
- Must have a working knowledge related to the installation and removal of secondary overhead services and bus. The installation and removal of overhead primary conductors. Installation of secondary underground services and bus as well as primary underground cable.
- Must have the ability to install, remove and operate isolating and protective devices overhead and underground.
- Must have the ability to read and mark up electrical and instrumentation manuals, drawings and specifications.
- Must have the ability to cope with physical activity associated with maintenance work.
- Must have basic writing and clerical skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel.
- Must have a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related safety codes.
- Must be capable of passing a colour identification test.
