Duties:

 

The Services Project Manager is responsible for successfully leading the delivery of a portfolio of sizeable (Level 1 and 2) Services Projects.

 

·         Contribute to proposal and estimate preparation for opportunities in your portfolio, and support contract negotiations.

·         Establish a project work plan, including work breakdown structure, resource loaded schedule, and Project Reporting System (PRS) record.

·         Ensure projects are executed, controlled and monitored, to result in on-time, on-budget delivery, at a quality level satisfying requirements and customer expectations.

·         Coordinate delivery of the work among technical organizations as required.

·         Achieve revenue and margin targets as defined in the work plan and fiscal year budget.

·         Identify and prevent/mitigate any risks that may occur on the project.

·         Ensure scope is tightly controlled and scope changes are proactively identified and successfully negotiated with the customer.

·         Ensure invoicing to the customer is timely and accurate, and take actions to expedite payment and resolve any issues.

·         Establish good communications and relationships with the customer to ensure that customer queries or problems are resolved in a timely manner.

·         Act as the focal point for managing the project portfolio, and interact with the Technical Leads/Managers, Customer, and Account Teams to resolve any emerging issues.

·         In cooperation with the Technical delivery organization, ensure safety of all staff executing project work.

·         Lead team meetings to evaluate progress of activities and ensure compliance to the work plan.

·         Perform cost and schedule (earned value) analysis to accurately predict project outcomes.

·         Prepare Project status reports for management and the customer.

·         Prepare quarterly forecasts in cooperation with the Account Teams.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         Relevant College Diploma and/or 5-10 years of related experience.

·         Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

·         Superior project management skills, aligned with Project Management Institute (PMI) principles.

·         Superior commercial/contract management skills.

·         Superior verbal and written communication skills.

·         Strong customer relations ability and cultural sensitivity.

·         Ability to integrate multi-disciplinary teams.

·         Possesses overall understanding of the AECL CANDU Services business.

·         Technical knowledge of CANDU products and services is a strong asset.

·         Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.

·         Committed to Project Management as a career path.

·         Ability to work under pressure and with conflicting priorities.
