Duties

The successful candidate will become a member of a multi-disciplinary branch (WL Engineering) providing project management, engineering, design, procurement services to WL site customers/tenants and providing decommissioning services to the Decommissioning Project. The successful candidate will contribute through the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs in the Civil discipline.

This Design Technician/Technologist will report to the Design Supervisor. Under the general direction of an engineer, he/she will:

• Prepare engineering drawings for new buildings and structures, and modifications to existing buildings and structures.
• Prepare documentation including concept reports, design requirements, design manuals, technical specifications, technical notes, customer proposals, work plans, schedules and estimates.
• Monitor project progress and costs against schedule and budget.
• Revise existing CADD and hand-drawn drawings.
• Prepare equipment specifications and parts lists.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized institute of advanced technology.
• Proficiency in both written and oral communications is required.
• Candidate must demonstrate effective team membership skills, self-motivation and leadership.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to changing requirements, and to work under pressure.
• Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
• Must be familiar with AutoCAD drafting.
