Duties:
· Under general supervision to perform work associated with electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems.
· Performs the skilled work associated with one of the electrical or instrumentation trades and their overlapping areas while providing assistance with skilled work specific to the other trades.
· Practices well housekeeping and observes general plant safety and health regulations.
· Assists in training apprentices or other employees as required.
· Carries out other related duties as required.
· Must maintain a prescribed tool kit.
Qualifications:
· Must have completed apprenticeship training or the equivalent and qualify as either a certified electrician or a certified instrument mechanic with additional training and experience in the other trade.
· Must have skilled trades ability in a certified trade with demonstrated ability in other related trades.
· Must have the ability to read and mark up electrical and instrumentation manuals, drawings and specifications.
· Must have the ability to cope with physical activity associated with maintenance work.
· Must have basic writing and clerical skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel.
· Must have a working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related safety codes.
· Must be capable of passing a colour identification test.
