As an experienced Organizational Development and Training Consultant the incumbent will be responsible for providing diversified technical training support to AECL company-wide programs and customers.
Duties:
- Facilitate, lead, and contribute as a member of the AECL Technical Training team on a wide variety of company-wide and site specific projects.
- Develop and utilize comprehensive needs analysis process to determine the needs of various customers and provide and implement solutions in technical training areas.
- Design, develop, document, implement, evaluate, validate, and manage AECL technical training programs that will meet the requirements of the customer and the required regulations.
- Develop and implement training policies and standards that meet industry standards to produce comprehensive and auditable training programs.
- Plan, manage and monitor training projects.
- Investigate, implement new technologies (i.e., CBT, Web based training) and supporting training techniques to compliment and improve training conducted.
- Plan and facilitate management, work team, labour/management meetings using a variety of human performance techniques in order to resolve training issues that affect organizational productivity and overall effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in engineering, science or education, or 10 years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.
- Advanced knowledge of the design of training systems and training programs.
- Experience in Technical Training and the application of the Standard Approach to Training (SAT)
- Extensive experience, preferably in an engineering or technical environment, in implementing training and linking training to business needs and measuring the results.
- Experience in facilitation techniques, coaching, and training delivery.
- Ability to communicate and market training and development services to a large client base
- Knowledge of nuclear industry standards for developing and implementing training programs.
- Knowledge of AECL's compliance programs.
- Strong project management, communication and computer skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
