We currently have an opening for an Information Manager for the Global Discontinued Business Division. This position will be located either in our Los Angeles, Chicago, London or Munich offices.
Role Purpose:
Responsible for management of information and data reconciliation as it applies to the Global Discontinued Business Division (GDBD) including the timely and accurate production of AGC&S GDBD reporting requirements across all lines of business and functions.
Ensure and conform data quality, integrity and consistency across legacy systems holding discontinued and legacy business data. To clarify and define information and reporting business requirements for IT and Information Management (IM) support services where appropriate. Functional interaction with IT and IM, where appropriate, for the development and production of data and reporting requirements involving the GDBD.
Develop regular and ad hoc reporting in support of GDBD data management needs for all lines of business.
Key Role: Manage, maintain and take complete ownership for the GDBD Data Warehouse, ensuring consistent and complete data flow among the various, local source systems, including the reconciliation of the data with the SAP financial reporting systems(s).
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Own, manage and oversee the ongoing development of information management tools and interrogation devise necessary to extract the data required for the GDBD from legacy systems at each involved OE. Including management and maintenance of the GDBD Data Warehouse for the purpose of report production and data reconciliation between the data warehouse and the SAP functional reporting system(s).
- Oversee data reconciliation and the delivery of regular and ad hoc reporting and data for Actuarial, Claims and Finance of the GDBD from the Legacy systems holding discontinued and legacy business data.
- Support vendor in the initial data warehouse building and quarterly refresh process. Liaise with the local IM personnel, IT and Operations in order to secure requested data.
- Understand the various legacy systems in place within each OE involved with the GDBD and the data relationships that exist between the business processes and systems and implement this knowledge when interpreting the information requirements from the GDBD business.
- Ensure the continuous improvement and refinement of the information management reporting capabilities for the GDBD.
- Participate in applicable Project Management related to GDBD needs and development, applying appropriate PMLC methods to ensure project success.
- Manage IM related communication within and to the GDBD business and to the global functions or OE's involved in the GDB D process and ensure all appropriate parties remain well briefed.
Requirements:
- Solid experience and understanding involving data warehouse management. Ability to assume ownership of the GDBD data warehouse system, to include the ability to transfer data from source systems to the data warehouse, test validate and reconcile data, ensure viability and credibility.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Relational Database Management Systems; preferably Oracle.
- Knowledge of SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Cognos.
- Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of data reporting / data analysis / statistical methods / financial reporting and analysis, etc. Knowledge and/or understanding of insurance or reinsurance business and common terminology is helpful but not required.
- An understanding of the AGCS organization and data management systems helpful, as well as functional knowledge and understanding of the Information Management role.
- Ability to understand IT and IM requirements and workflow and to analyze processes and data.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong English communication skills, ability to communicate in other languages is a plus; demonstrable people and task management skills, keep problem solving approach.
