What You'll Do

 

While applying their knowledge on the job, with 5 or more years' experience, a System Admin II in the AGI/MASINT portfolio is expected to either be in a strong leadership position or have very deep technical expertise in a particular specialty. 

The job entails working through the life-cycle of a project from requirements analysis all the way through operations and maintenance. The job requires rapid evaluation and deployment of technologies to meet specific requirements.

Major responsibilities include:

·        Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.

·        Ensure work is technically correct and contribute to organization goals and success, assignments are more difficult and technically challenging.

·        Contributes to the completion of specific projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

·        Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

·        Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

·        Interface well with other people at all levels; use initiative in applying solutions to assignments. Make effective presentations, and contribute to large teams. May provide guidance to less experience employees.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills. Assists with preparation of presentations.

·        Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

 

What You'll Need 

 

·        BS in Information Technology or a related technical field plus 5 or more years experience.

·        General knowledge of technologies used within the MASINT AGI to include:

o       Computer Networking

o       Security certification processes to include methods by which operating systems are hardened / locked down, security procedures, auditing procedures…

o       Operating systems to include Linux (RHEL) and Windows

o       Use of virtualization technologies to include VMWare

o       Storage technologies to include multi-tier storage

o       Authentication technologies

·        Certifications as required to work on classified networks (Security+ …)

·        Specialization in one or more core technologies to include related certifications

·        In-depth knowledge of the AGI/MASINT customer's organization and processes

·        Knowledge of the Intelligence Community (IC) to include the leadership and major organizations

·        Ability to lead a complex technical project or a significant part of a project

·        Demonstrated accomplishments which inspire trust from teammates and customers

·        Ability to contribute planning and scheduling activities

·        Track progress against established schedules

·        Ability to communicate in an effective manner

  • In addition to the typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of the position and exhibit the skills and competencies of the grade level will be considered. Each higher-level degree, i.e. Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
