What You'll Do

  •  As an international and commercial contract specialist in the Civil and Operational Space (COS) contracts department, reporting to a COS Manager of Contracts, you will assume an individual contributor role for contract negotiation and administration on a variety of programs encompassing all phases of the contract life cycle (pre-proposal  - contract close out).
  • Work directly with foreign customers, large prime domestic customers, as well as foreign government entities.
  • Support strategies involving U.S. Government export control entities (U.S. State Department and U.S. Commerce Department), Ball Corporation's export control offices, Washington, D.C. offices, as well as foreign government export/import regulatory units.
  • Provide insight and advice to BATC management regarding the application of standard foreign procurement practices (i.e. Bonds, guarantees, INCOTERMS, Insurance, general terms and conditions, etc).
  • Assist in the development and negotiations of various types of space related liability insurance policies and practices.
  • Draft, negotiate and execute multi-party Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements, Memorandums of Agreements, and Memorandums of Understanding.
  • Monitor and manage the Coproration's foreign consultant and agent agreements.
  • Responsible for collaborating with other employees in the department and programs, and for establishing effective relationships with key customers. 
  • Will assist the manager in reviewing contracts and related documents to assess risk to the company and recommend mitigation approaches and ensure compliance with various federal regulations and Ball Aerospace policy.

 

What You'll Need

 

  • Bachelor's Degree, plus 10 or more years of hands-on experience in Federal government contracts related work.
  • Demonstrated Government, International and Commercial (domestic and international) contracts experience.
  • Business related Master's is desirable.
  • CPCM certification desirable.
  • Experienced with Firm Fixed Price contracts. 
  • Strong working knowledge of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), and the Export Administration Regulation (EAR).
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, computer fluency, agile and effective negotiator with clear oral and written explanations.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Ability to work a variety of complex issues in parallel.
  • Experience in developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
  • Must be a leader with strong conflict resolution skills in a changing environment.
  • In addition to typical educational and experience requirements, a demonstrated capability through past experience to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position and exhibit the skills and competencies of this grade level should be considered.  Each higher-level degree i.e., Master's, Ph.D., or J.D. may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education.
