Position Overview

Responsible for the systems, processes, and programs associated for sourcing Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) for Best Buy Canada Ltd. as well as supporting purchasing functions. Duties include creating Requests for Proposal (RFPs), driving the RFP process, negotiating service levels and pricing with candidates and making recommendations on the optimal candidate in that process. This will also include business reviews, vendor analysis, spending review, managing sourcing systems, processes, SOP review.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure and negotiate the standard terms and conditions set forth by Best Buy's legal department for all contracts
  • Assist in defining the business requirements
  • Through business needs identification, investigates the market to source, select and recommend purchasing options
  • Either in an individual contributor capacity or collaborative capacity (as directed by the Sr. Manager, Sourcing and Contract Management) is responsible for the coordination of all systems in which GNFR are to be sourced, negotiated and established 
  • Works with cross functional teams on projects to identify, sourcing and supply requirements to meet objectives set by internal stakeholders as directed by the Sr. Manager, Sourcing and Contract Management
  • Oversees the costing process in respect to identifying and applying best practices.
  • Working with the Manager, Sourcing and Contract Management, reviews spend in capital and expenses as it relates to approved projects. Recommend course of action to reduce costs and aggregate spend.

 

Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification
  • At least 3yrs of contract and negotiation experience
  • Previous experience as a senior buyer managing +$20M spend
  • Intermediate level in Microsoft Office programs
