Monday-Friday- Flexible Shift

Department & Location: East Service Depot

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

* Management Associates must have completed min. 9 months in current role

* Non-management associates must have completed min. 6 months in current role

(If you have not completed 6 months in your current role, please speak with your Supervisor)

* Last Performance Review must reflect “on target” performance or better

* All candidates must meet the minimum experience requirements as stated below

 

POSITION SUMMARY

With a focus on ensuring that the company is always striving to provide the very best in customer service, the Eastern Service Depot is looking for candidates who will achieve or exceed customer service standards – both internal and external.

As an Electronic/PC Hardware technician you will be responsible for the day to day repairs of the various hardware products that we, as a retailer, provide. Your proficiency in the area of repair will enable you to achieve the benchmarks set out regarding turn-around-time and quality to ensure that our customers are receiving reliable, efficient customer service.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & SKILLS

Education:     Grade 12 or equivalent is desired, although a combination of relevant education, training, and experience will be considered. Electronics Diploma, A +, and additional Manufacturer Authorizations Training are also required.

Experience:   The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a service depot environment or 2 years experience in the repair of computer hardware product. This role requires an individual who is technically competent, with detailed working knowledge of various computer products including, PCs, Notebooks, PDA, Laser/DeskJet Printers, Scanners, peripheral equipment, etc. from various manufacturers such as HP, SONY, Cicero, Toshiba, etc. The successful candidates must also be experienced in the use of all associated test equipment.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked as a bench technician in an authorized service centre, and/ or those with manufacturer certifications.

Skills:              The successful candidate should posses strong diagnostic and analytical skills and excellent organizational and follow up skills. The successful candidate must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong command of the English language, and the ability to perform tasks accurately and thoroughly with minimal errors. 

                       This role requires a dedicated team player who is able to work under pressure, who will foster a positive work environment, and who will assist co-workers and supervisors. Intermediate skills with MS Office applications are required. 

Must be able to lift 35 lbs, Unassisted.
