Forensic Early Intervention Service

Complex Care and Recovery Program


Position Description:

The Forensic Early Intervention Service (FEIS) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent Clinical Psychologist to support the development of a treatment and evaluation framework.

The successful candidate will engage in treatment, education, research and evaluation activities within FEIS with an adult forensic population. Reporting to the manager of the Forensic Early Intervention Service, the successful candidate will (i) support and supervise FEIS staff in program development and implementation of intervention, (ii) design and supervise the implementation of routine evidence based assessment and intervention and outcome tools, (iii) assist in the dissemination of knowledge via production of monographs, conference presentations and scientific papers, (iv) provide clinical assessments and interventions according to the FEIS service design, and (v) link with research and knowledge translation networks to support the activities outlined above. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements. This position is located at the Queen Street West site.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent), will be registered in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (or eligible to register), to practice Clinical Psychology with adult forensic populations (at a minimum). The successful candidate will have 3 or more years of experience with intervention, assessment, training, evaluation and research in forensic treatment contexts and their associated populations. The successful candidate will have experience working with interdisciplinary teams and will evidence an ability to develop a program of evaluation and research in support of clinical innovation. Having a track record as an independent investigator would be an asset.

You will also have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and function well within a cooperative, collaborative working environment. You have the ability for self-directed learning/working, while working concurrently on multiple projects. The successful candidate is able to work independently with minimal supervision, seeking advice and support when needed. You must be able to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds and you will embrace a recovery orientation to care. An excellent attendance record, consistency, and reliability should be demonstrated in your record of past employment and references.

Salary Range: $45.54– $61.42 per hour
