Finance Assistant A/P


Position Description
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the timely payment to suppliers and the timely reimbursement of staff expense claims. As a member of the Finance Team, the Finance Assistant (AP) will report to the Manager, AP & AR. In this role, you will be the point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, customer support for supplier invoice related questions and payment of invoices and expense claims. In this role, you will process at minimum, 32 invoices per day and prepare system uploads in excel and month end accruals. Accountabilities include assisting with both internal and external audit preparations. You are required to complete all assigned projects and other tasks related to Accounts Payable as required. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.  This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.


The successful candidate must possess a minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education such as a diploma in Accounting and/or Business Management with a minimum of six (6) months of accounting experience in accounts payable and payment processing. You possess excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), problem solving, organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills. You have the ability to demonstrate diplomacy, judgement, and initiative, while working under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines which all require a high level of accuracy. The ability to clearly articulate financial concepts is required. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software packages specifically Excel is required. Experience with a large enterprise financial reporting system such as Lawson is required. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.


Please Note:     This full-time, permanent position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.


Salary Range:   $24.87 to $30.67 per hour
