Position Description:

The Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is currently seeking a Sr. Project Manager for a full-time, contract position. Under a matrix reporting relationship between the Senior Director and Scientific Director, Sr. Project Manager will work with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to CAMH and be responsible for the hands-on leadership and oversight for the development and execution of work plans, accountabilities, and timelines associated with the BrainHealth Databank initiative.

The BrainHealth Databank platform will be specifically designed to support multidimensional phenotyping studies that combine digital phenotyping and laboratory-based data across existing and future clinical studies at CAMH. All data will be organized within the knowledge graph of the BrainHealth Databank. The platform will support configuration of studies that integrate common data elements and CRFs, wearable and mobile devices, voice samples, electronic medical record (EMR) extracts, outcome assessments and health care system usage. The portal will enable the scheduling of wearable deployment, biosample acquisition, mobile device applications, follow-up interviews and assessments, and integrate the resulting data in the BrainHealth Databank. The integration of these data with genetics, epigenetics, neuroimaging, EEG, TMS/EEG and other multidimensional phenotyping data will provide the opportunity to establish data-driven etiology and predictive models of mental health trajectories.

 

The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Project Manager include hands-on leadership and oversight for the development of work plans, accountabilities and timelines associated with the initiative. The successful incumbent will engage with key user groups, establish the work of a number of task groups, and ensure implementation plans are developed and executed in a manner which supports agreed upon timelines and objectives. The Sr. Project Manager will be the key contact point between the project leadership and key stakeholders/user groups so that issues are identified and solutions are developed and implemented.   The successful candidate will lead by influence to ensure deliverables from stakeholders and any project staff is met within project timelines and meet quality requirements. The Sr. Project Manager will facilitate working groups and/or inter professional focus groups and develop and deliver project presentations to various stakeholders. The incumbent will collaborate with other project teams as necessary and provide coaching and mentoring to project team members. This position is located at the Queen Street Site but may require travel to partnering agencies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Hands on work across: Initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and close of all of project related activities;
  • Managing stakeholders to ensure that there is agreement to scope, approach, deliverables and budget to achieve overall success of the project;
  • Utilizing the CAMH project management methodology to drive project standards, identifying risk and issues, adhering to a formal change process and executing activities that achieve the deliverables as stated in the Project Charters and Scope Statements
  • Providing leadership to and facilitate meaningful engagement of all stakeholders, including early identification and management of conflicting priorities
  • Build effective and collaborative relationships with Project Teams, the Clinical Programs Executive Team, other CAMH project teams with impacts on clinical projects
  • Resource management for project management resources
  • Budget development and tracking for project and operational work

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

NOTE: The Sr. Manager will be the key point person for the project and be responsible for hands on development of project deliverables.Candidate will need to be flexible for scheduling and hours will need to be adjusted as per project schedule and deliverables

Main duties will include:

  • Development of project approach, plan, and status;
  • Identifying project targets and milestones, and working with the project teams to achieve the milestones;
  • Defining project deliverables, and ensuring that deliverables are completed within the project timeline and meet the quality required;
  • Establishing priorities, coordinating and supporting the project teams’ members in their roles;
  • Identifying risks and mitigating strategies;
  • Identifying project issues and working with the team to resolve the issues;
  • Project reporting both internally and to external project funders.
  • Working with the leaders of clinical units, outpatient programs and researcher departments at CAMH to coordinate resources to develop and implement projects
  • Facilitation of interprofessional focus groups and/or working group sessions
  • Facilitation of leadership working group sessions
  • Review processes to ensure that internal controls are appropriate;
  • Develop and deliver project presentations for various stakeholders both internal and external;
  • Developing and implementing/disseminating the communication plan for the project;
  • Synthesize literature and write reports
  • Oversee the development of training and or ‘marketing’ material if applicable.
  • Co-ordination and collaboration with other CAMH project teams as necessary
  • Responsible for the immediate supervision for project team members
  • As a Sr. leader in the organization providing coaching/mentoring, and performance management as necessary to project team members and others as identified
  • Planning project budgets and operational budgets in relation to the project
  • Provide project leadership as necessary

 

Training and Experience:

  • A Master’s Degree in a related field is an asset (Medical Informatics, Bioinformatics, Medical Sciences, etc.)
  • PMP certified an asset
  • 5-8 years demonstrated progressive and relevant experience in Project Management and/or Databank/Data-Warehouse Implementations for clinical research with increasing complexity and scope
  • Extensive experience in a healthcare environment
  • Experience with research methodologies, data types and best-practices
  • Experience with large-scale data collection and multi-modal data integration.
  • Experience with graph databases, data models, provenance tracking and data-reusability
  • Experience successfully managing healthcare projects in a clinical research setting
  • Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders
  • Strong organization and planning skills required
  • Ability to find the best approach or solution to highly diverse challenges.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, conceptual and decision-making skills are required
  • Demonstrated flexibility and have the ability to adapt and manage changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

 

Other Skills:

  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be at asset.

 

Please note:  This full time, contract position lasting twelve (12) months is NOT part of any Bargaining unit.
