Provides respiratory care to a broad patient population to include both outpatient and inpatient services under the direction of a physician.
Illinois License or Certified/Registered with Illinois licensing within 6 months of hire.
ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification required as applicable to areas of responsibility within one year.
Basic computer literacy- use of computer and computer software applications required.
Demonstrates the knowledge required to provide culturally competent, population specific care.
Inspects, tests, maintains, and operates respiratory therapy equipment.
Performs: patient therapy assessments, respiratory therapy modalities as ordered by the physician and Pulmonary Function Tests.
Manages invasive and noninvasive ventilation.
Responsible for drawing Arterial Blood Gases (ABG's).
Provides guidance to Respiratory Care Aides/Students.
Provides education to patients and family.
Performs artificial airway maintenance.
Performs Pulmonary Rehabilitation as ordered by the physician.
