Supports the Patient Care Team by providing or assisting in activities associated with the sanitation, disinfecting and maintenance of cleanliness in all areas of the Medical Center and clinics.
High School Diploma or its equivalent required.
Demonstrates the knowledge necessary to provide culturally competent, patient specific care.
Thoroughly cleans patient care, office, ancillary, and general use areas as assigned.
Responds to urgent cleaning needs as observed or reported.
Maintains adequate cleaning supplies and replenishes supplies (such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) for position assignment.
Safely and properly operates electric vacuum cleaners, and carpet spotting extractors as assigned.
Assists in maintaining any and all cleaning equipment and reports any repairs needed.
Removes all trash and potentially infectious medical waste (PIMW) in a timely and safe manner ensuring proper disposal procedures are used.
Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required. This includes, but is not limited to, room set-ups, curtain changes, and distribution of cleaning supplies to cleaning closets and store rooms.
Identifies mechanical deficiencies throughout the facility and reports them to POM for correction.
Identifies floor maintenance requirements and reports them to the Environmental Services Manager / Shift Leader for correction.
