Job Summary:

*This is a temp to hire position.

 • Receive orders (consumables, chemicals, solvents) and deliver to end user.
    o Log received items into JDE, organize and scan all receipts and packing slips.
    o Bar Code chemicals and all solvents into ChemCart and deliver to stocking locations.
• Provide inventory management support for chemistry and biology stock rooms.
• Label capital equipment.
• Escort Vendors throughout the site to perform various services.
• Support solvent delivery system change outs on 200L containers.
• Package and return shipments 20L and 200L kegs to vendors.
• Maintain shipping supplies.
• Expedite outbound shipments when necessary and ensure materials meet DOT and IATA requirements.
• Handle confidential materials, involved in confidential matters related to supplier/vendor relationships and maintain strict confidentiality within the organization.
• Respond to researchers’ needs in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


• High School diploma required. Some college work desirable.
• 1-4 years of experience in similar positions, biotech experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills. Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards) highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Chemical and biological handling and safety procedures.
• Trained and certified for shipping hazardous materials using DOT regulations and preparing the appropriate related documentation.
• Must have the ability to operate safely in work environments involving potential exposure to chemical and biological hazards.
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy packages often, have manual dexterity in both hands, and perform daily job duties that involve bending, kneeling, twisting and turning, and periods of prolonged walking throughout the workday.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
