DRS Power & Control Technologies, Inc., is a leading supplier of high-performance power conversion and instrumentation & control systems for the U.S. Navy’s combatant fleet. Products include ship electric propulsion equipment, power electronics equipment, high-performance networks, shipboard control equipment and control panels, tactical displays and specialty reactor plant instrumentation and control equipment. The Division designs, qualifies and manufactures products that help people every day on the ground, sea and in the air. We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off. 

 

Position Summary

This is a part-time opportunity (approx 16-20 hours per week) that will be responsible for the daily sorting and distribution related to all mail service functions within all the corporate locations. The Mail Clerk will be responsible for the day to day functioning of all mailing related activities in a manner consistent with the rules and policies established by the USPS.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Delivery of mail, packages, copy products and stationary to assigned group/location per daily schedule.  Ensure that all packages received/delivered are shipped and/or delivered same day, or alternatively consignee with be advised of next day delivery.
  • Check daily and replenish, if necessary, all mail and postage supplies.
  • Ensure all shipped packages are adequately protected against damage.
  • Apply appropriate postage amounts and required identification to outgoing mail and packages.
  • Coordination pick-ups and delivery with designated carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS)

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Knowledge of basic mailing and labeling equipment
  • Ability to work independently and also contribute as a team member
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently
  • Able to follow written and oral instructions
  • U.S. Citizenship required

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

  • 2-3 years comparable experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
