We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off

 

Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, development and implementation of Network communications architectures for the DoD NetCentric operations and/or for foreign applications. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the design, development and implementation of distributed network and computational platform solutions utilizing Linux, Unix, and Windows server images, Server clusters and Linux/XP Clients, as well as core and edge switching technology.
  • Responsible for VoIP and Video over IP and Video teleconferencing solutions in concert with networking solutions.
  • Responsible for the virtualization of the network and computational resources.
  • Evaluate and recommend security software and tools for the shipboard environment and where needed will also author security plans and design documents and oversee the development of the required documentation. 
  • Participate in the IA documentation and process requirements for DITSCAP/DIACAP certification and participate in a multiple organization Integrated Process Team. 
  • Provide guidance to our Navy customers to establish a supporting infrastructure for software and system configuration management that will support continued DITSCAP/DIACAP certification.
  • Lead the technology inputs to proposals developed and submitted in response to DOD and commercial Request for Proposals.
  • Function as a technical liaison to any auditing group or government security entity.
Basic Qualifications
  • A BS is required, with 2+ years of direct experience in Network communications/architecture
  • Must be able travel both domestically and internationally
  • US citizenship is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

  • A background in Software and Network security is desired.
  • Knowledge of Navy software/systems and Navy Open Architecture requirements/issues preferred. 
  • Familiarity/experience with Cisco IOS, VoIP, QoS, Information Assurance, Windows Active Directory, Linux, Windows XP, Windows Clustering, and Windows 2003 Server.
  • Familiarity with Linux OS and/or Openview is a definite plus. 
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills.
