DRS Tactical Systems is a leading designer and manufacturer of highly engineered, technically advanced, defense electronics for U.S. and allied international military and intelligence agency applications. Position Summary/Relocation Benefits
Provides technical support to the business by analyzing financial data to assist in month-end closing activities and decision making for the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Assist in the planning and preparation of annual budget and rolling forecasts. Coordinate, consolidate, and analyze the site operational budget inputs. Provide management with summary reporting and analysis.
· Assist in preparation of other measurement reporting, such as quarterly review, strategic plans, management meetings and key performance measurements.
· Manage the execution and compilation of the capital budget; includes monitoring and measuring the current capital forecast plan as well as current capital expenditure request documentation and approvals.
· Reconcile and maintain departmental budget expense reporting system.
· Contribute to the development of monthly management reporting package and commentary identifying noteworthy fluctuations from budget and emphasis upon short-term performance activity.
· Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of the forward pricing rate agreement (FPRA). Review and analyze all inputs and reports to ensure proposed rates are in compliance with established Cost Disclosure Statement.
· Support audit activities that include external auditors, local internal auditors, DCAA and customer auditors.
· Prepare indirect labor rate and fringe benefit analysis for establishing proposed labor rates for input into the manufacturing and engineering forecast/cost systems.
· Assist in the development for establishing methodology of allocating service cost to functional areas.
· Be knowledgeable concerning business systems and processes through Tactical Systems and be capable of leading and/or assisting in the preparation of a wide variety of special financial studies and analyses that will be required from time to time.
· Establish and maintain organizational structure within the general ledger system to ensure accurate reporting by functional area, lines of business and management structure.
· Must be able to meet the definition of a U.S. Person. The definition of a U.S. Person is defined as a either a U.S. Citizen or an unexpired Green Card holder.
Basic Qualifications
· Knowledge of accounting for government contractors required, must have knowledge of FAR and CAS regulations with an understanding of direct/indirect and allowable/unallowable cost structures.
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, with extra emphasis on Excel skills.
· Proficient use of ERP-type systems required.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
· Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance required with a minimum of 3 years experience budgeting, financial analysis and forecasting.
· Strong internal and external communications skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
