Job Description:

Performs responsibilities requiring integration of disciplines from more than one Quality job family and/or other business function and applies independent, specialized technical expertise to a wide range of business objectives.  Establishes; oversees; and administers processes, policies, and practices; and determines resources requirement, acquisition and redeployment plans.  Activities may include, but are not limited to the development, integration, implementation, and/or execution of multidisciplinary business processes. 

Works with peers and subordinates to establish and evaluate employee performance plans.  Interfaces with other organizations, customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to define and evaluate accomplishment of project and program priorities. May work cross-functionally with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems, and procedures. Identifies requirements and provides coordination and guidance in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages and systems, computational software and related technology, and the integration of computers into the overall functions of scientific computation, and data acquisition, transmission, and processing. Establishes corrective and preventative action plans for software product deficiencies and process non-compliance and ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation and configuration management of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements, and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation comply with requirements, objectives and contracts. Performs technical evaluations of software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or oversees verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

This individual will be responsible for oversight and management of the DRS Cypress Quality Management System including the nonconformance process, specifications, standards mapping and analysis, waiver, self-governance audits, ISO registration, corrective action tracking and analysis, communication and collaboration activities within Mission Assurance.

Individual will be responsible for generating and deploying QA process metrics and command media; successfully completing ISO transactions and extending the overall Mission Assurance process effectiveness via quantitative management through the Preventative Action Board.

Special Skills/Experience Required:

·        Certifications IPC-610. NASA NHB5300 H Certified Soldering, Crimping and Wiring inspection

·        ISO9001:2000 trained internal auditor

·        Leadership skills
