Position Summary
The incumbent will be assigned as the Information Assurance (IA) Lead Engineer on multimillion dollar project teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight and technical management of the development of NSA endorsed cryptographic units and associated certification evidence.
- Cryptographic key management planning and implementation
- Design and Development of systems incorporating Multiple Independent Levels of Security and Multiple Levels of Security
- Development and derivation of system security functional requirements.
- Selection, integration, utilization and certification of Common Criteria evaluated products.
- Development of secure systems utilizing security separation kernels (DO 178B) in embedded computing environments
- Perform security, analyses and risk/vulnerability assessments.
- Prepare estimates of hours and cost, work breakdown structures, and narrative for technical proposals.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related scientific or technical discipline is required.
- Thorough knowledge of the Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) certification and accreditation roles, responsibilities, and methodologies
- Demonstrable knowledge of security technologies and their application
- Experience in performing or participating in security test and evaluations (certification testing)
- Experience in the application of Information Assurance (IA) principles/processes to the design and development of complex military systems.
Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge
- Current or recent security clearance to at least the Secret level is highly desirable.
- Formal training and/or certification associated with the following is also highly desirable:
§ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
§ Information System Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)
§ Common Criteria training
