DRS C3 & Aviation Company is a world leader in Naval display consoles and is a leading supplier of networked and integrated sensor control systems for military and homeland security missions.  DRS C3 & Aviation Company incorporates dynamic technologies in command, control, computing, and communications to provide new approaches for seamless homeland security, homeland defense, and military operations. 

 

Our solutions for force protection, undersea warfare and ship self-defense incorporate our virtually undetectable radar, day/night video and a multi-sensor tracking system to provide highly accurate detections and tracking of targets.  Designed and built  for border, coastal/port defense, and surveillance the systems automatically identify and classify moving ground and shallow-water targets, contributing to national security objectives to safeguard borders, littoral regions and valuable assets from  terrorist acts.

 

We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off. 

 

Position Summary

The Project Engineer will provide technical business and system development for the Company’s Border and Force Protection Systems line of business.  

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support Systems engineering/ Technical Business Development efforts for the Company.
  • Provide technical management, co-ordination and direction to technical teams working within, or on behalf of BFPS programs.
  • Responsible for monitoring and providing proactive feedback on technical, cost, quality, risk, configuration management and schedule performance on current contracts. Develop and implement work around plans where issues arise.
  • Coordinate estimates of cost, schedule and technical parameters for new business proposal development.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with all stakeholders including customers, partners, suppliers, and internal DRS engineering leads.

 

Basic Qualifications

·     BS in Engineering, or related discipline

  • A minimum of  10 years of project engineering experience
  • US citizenship is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

·         Must have participated in engineering for effort for design, development, production, and after sale support for a US military program:

o        Proven experience in project performance assessments

o        Ability to work within a team atmosphere with organizations of varying cultural environments.

o        Experience in risk management, project planning, and technical management.

o        Demonstrated experience in problem resolution, the ability to plan and complete tasks within cost/schedule.

o        Able to perform/ direct the analysis/ and present the results to support the Company.

 

·         Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and presentations skills are required.

·         Ability to travel up to 50% of the time including international travel (Jordan)

·         Advanced degree preferred

·         Must be able to be a strong contributor to integrated product teams that are both internal and external to the company.

·         Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
