DRS C3 & Aviation is seeking a dynamic individual as a Production Machinery Mechanic. This individual will work with the Air Force and required resources to achieve project objectives to include SOW requirements.
Position Summary
Individual will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery. Individual will repair shop equipment. Individual will interpret different types of drawings to isolate malfunctions in machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls, and maintains the mechanical and hydraulic portion of multi-axis lathes and machining centers. Isolates malfunctions as to hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic or electrical. Troubleshoots, diagnoses malfunctions, repairs, aligns and overhauls conventional machine tools and associated attachments such as turret lathes, universal mills, radial presses, die sinkers, engine lathes, milling machines, surface and rotary grinders and lapping machines. Checks for satisfactory accomplishment of repairs while holding prescribed tolerances in accordance with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) manuals, technical data, and other applicable data. Repair other industrial shop equipment including woodworking equipment such as planers, jointers and saws and sheet metal equipment such as power brake shears, dimplers, punch and hydraulic presses, vacuum pumps and the mechanical portion of heat treating furnaces, hydraulic test stands and pattern forming machines. Makes adjustments to machinery and accomplishes operational test. Interprets complex multi-view drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturer's specifications and other technical material to isolate malfunctions in hydraulic pumps and motors, mechanical clamping devices, and electric or hydraulic axis drive and positioning systems.
Basic Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Completed Mechanic apprenticeship program
· 1-2 yrs experience as a Journeyman
· Experience and training that furnishes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties
· Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools and equipment
· Ability to read, understand, and apply instruction and other materials related to the job
· Ability to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and work in cramped positions over and under machinery of all types for sustained periods of time
· Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
· Must possess a valid driver's license and desired Commercial Drivers License
