DRS C3 Systems, Inc., Fort Walton Beach, FL provides engineering, manufacturing, and support of defense and aerospace systems for sea, land, air, and space use.  Our product and service areas include electronic control and monitoring systems, aerospace material handling systems, simulation and training systems, radar systems, aerospace support equipment, contract manufacturing, engineering, and product support. 

 DRS C3 Systems, Inc., employs more than 900 engineers, craftsmen, and specialists in six modern plants that occupy more than 266,500 square feet in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  These facilities include manufacturing, engineering, laboratory and test departments.  In addition, DRS has contract logistics support operations in Europe and the Middle East.

Position Summary

Design of digital and analog circuit cards, electrical assemblies, and cabling.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs design engineering to include, but not limited to circuit card and box level design and development, FPGA design and firmware development, parts selection, fabrication assistance and man hours/budget management.  Travels as necessary for product support and customer/subcontractor assistance.  Performs component/product and military specification research.  Provides prompt, accurate, technical input for program management support, production support, customer assistance, marketing support. Provides interface with software engineering, project engineering, and mechanical engineering and drafting.

 Basic Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with electronic design from circuit card design through system level design
  • Experience with digital and/or analog circuit card design including FPGA design software such as Altera Quartus or Xilinx Foundation
  • Matlab and analog simulation tools
  • Knowledge of computer programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog, C++, and schematic capture tools are highly desirable
  • Must be familiar with Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project
  • Must be able to organize and clearly communicate complex technical information to non-engineering personnel

Additional Desirable Skills and Knowledge

Familiarity with military programs and specifications
