Position Summary

Electrical Engineer capable of designing military grade Analog and Digital Display Systems.

Applies in-depth knowledge of several technical specialties in order to effectively and efficiently design, analyze, test and document Analog and Digital Display Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform requirements review, design to cost analysis, design for testability, design for manufacturability, create schematics, create BOMs, perform simulations, provide guidance and direction for PCB layout, assist as needed on manufacturing pilot runs.

·         Fully accountable for development of Analog and Digital Display systems, including the design of custom electronics, and development of VHDL code, along with complete analysis of all developed circuits. 

·         Must be capable of assessing and quantifying LCD display characteristics, and proficient in Display Metrology.

·        Applicant must stay abreast of latest industry trends and developments, in order to help our customer remain competitive, by providing the most technically sound and cost effective solutions.

·        Capable of assisting in business development, generate system specifications and architectures in trying to provide cost effective engineered solutions.

·         Perform system engineering, requirements management and systems architecture for both Analog and Digital Display Systems.

·         Integrate large Navy systems using custom building blocks and COTS components.

·         Validate system performance using analysis, simulation, and laboratory testing.

·        Generate complete system documentation and provides input to technical proposals in order to effectively communicate the design and/or approach to our internal and external customers.

·         Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship of less experienced design engineers in order to increase our design expertise base within the company with an emphasis on performance, design optimization and re-use.

·         Communicates with the customer and internal management as the technical expert on Display Systems to effectively interface with all facets of decision-making personnel and customer.

·        Provide schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively record progress of technical aspects of the program assigned. 

Basic Qualifications

·         Bachelor´s Degree in Electrical Engineering, required

·         MS Degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus

·         12+ years of experience required

·         Experience in military electronics specifications a plus.

·         Naval systems knowledge a plus.

·         Knowledge of Analog and Digital Display systems a must.

·         Knowledge of circuit design tools such as Cadence or ORCad.

·         Knowledge of LCD metrology.

·         Knowledge of simulation tools a must.

·         Digital electronic design skill a must.

·         Extensive PC skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows a plus.

·         United States Citizenship is required.

·         Proven design skills in a product development environment. Ability to work in multi-functional design teams.

·         Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering organization.

·         Technical leader who is action-oriented, ability to apply sound judgment to complex issues and is self-motivated.

·         Excellent verbal and written communications.

·         Ability and willingness for travel, including air travel, if required.

·         Experience with VHDL design using the Xilinx EDK FPGA development platform.
