CAAR614256 Engineering Managers - Electrical - Systems  

 Engineering Managers-Electrical-Systems

DRS Sustainment Systems Inc., Florence Operations, is seeking two (2) Engineering Managers, (1) Systems and (1) Electrical. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing/supervising a team of engineer on complex activities ensuring completion on time and budget.

Brief Description of Duties: 

  • Ability to manage/supervise a technical group independently
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacturing requirements
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participates in preparation of proposals
  • Manage/supervise and direct the work of work group—set expectations and manage results of the group through accountability
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values & culture of the organization

 Technical/Special Skills Required:                 

  • General knowledge of Controls, Electrical, Fluids, Kinematic, Metalurgical, Structural and Thermodynamic systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Tools and Project Management Tools required
  • Familiarity with Deltek ERP and Primavera P3E desired
  • Strong technical background
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills
  • Ability to form and manage cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing work teams

Education and Experience:

 

BSEE or BSME required, MSEE, MSME or MBA desired. Five (5) years + of engineering management responsibility/Team leadership experience. Experienced in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration systems. Experience/familiarity with product development for defense applications. Experience with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development.
