Position Summary
The Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the audit function for all financial, and internal control system reviews. Responsible for administering an ongoing risk assessment process to select appropriate audit and consulting projects. Manages the planning and execution of all audit and consulting work. Manages the communication of findings, conclusions and recommendations to management and the Audit Committee of the Proxy Board of Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
§ Coordinate the annual internal audit plan
- Act as a liaison with the external internal audit consultant (firm)
- Coordinate resources to engage and execute the audit plan
- Consolidate and communicate internal audit results to the CFO and Audit Committee – Proxy Board of Managers.
- Build knowledge and understanding of internal audit process among managers.
- Provide leadership in the evaluation and maintenance of internal audit process.
- Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development opportunities for direct reports.
- Contribute to the strategic planning process from a Audit perspective.
- Work closely with the business and leaders across the company.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 5 – 10 years prior experience in internal audit.
- Prior experience in external audit is a big plus.
- A CPA, CMA or CIA preferred.
- Experience in management and leadership, a must.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Microsoft Office products, including strong proficiency in Excel, are a must.
- Interpersonal skills should include the ability to build rapport quickly with management, strong negotiation skills and the ability to persuade others as appropriate.
