Position Summary
The Assistant Facility Security Officer will be responsible for daily security operations. Duties include ensuring that classified documents are properly marked, tracked and secured; sending, receiving and processing classified material; administer and coordinate security activities to ensure compliance with government NISPOM and company security policies, procedures and directives; maintain control of restricted/closed areas; prepare and maintain AIS/SSP’s; maintain security classification guides; process paperwork for base pass & ID’s; be the Comsec Custodian; develop and conduct security education programs; process and maintain information for security clearance applications and visit authorization letters.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily requests for planned/unplanned contact with SSA/Finmeccanica
- Track those requests accordingly with Proxy regulations
- Assist with tracking classified items in and out of the facility as well as in-between the two classified labs
- Assist in preparing for Defense Security Service annual audits
- Brief all new employees on the rules & regulations of the facility
- Brief all new employees that will be requiring entrance into secured areas
- Prepare monthly Security Newsletters for keeping employees up to date with new regulations
- Assist with packaging all tactical radios for shipment to the customer
- Prepare badges for all new employees
- Maintain all employees security folders
- Maintain accurate JPAS records
- Assist with updating all local security manuals
- Submit clearances packages for all new employees requiring classified access
Basic Qualifications
3-5 years experience providing security support in a DoD environment. Must have knowledge of DoD and other government agency security manuals, good communication skills, and working knowledge of the JPAS system. Must have knowledge of SCI requirements and prior experience in this area of security. Familiarity with DCID 6/3 and DCID 6/9, computer network administration, and secure computer administration.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge
Must have a current security clearance at the Secret level, TS/SCI desired.
