We operate on a 9/80 work schedule, all employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off.  Relocation Benefits will apply to this position.

 

The successful candidates will provide business development for all DRS C3 & Aviation Company’s  Manufacturing facilities and may be located at any one of the facilities but traveling as required to all DRS C3 & Aviation Company’s  Manufacturing locations to support their new business needs.

Position Summary

As DRS C3 & Aviation Company’s Manufacturing Business Development Director, your mission is to define and execute our marketing strategy across the DoD market space. You will need to have strong established relationships and be adept at both the tactical and strategic aspects of marketing EMS solutions. Your role will be to plan and execute pursuits to capture new business opportunities for all manufacturing facilities. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big picture vision and the drive to make it reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand the customer and customer’s customer needs to create innovative EMS solutions for the broader market

Duties and Responsibilities

The DRS C3 & Aviation Company’s Manufacturing Business Development Director will report to the DRS C3 & Aviation Company’s Manufacturing Vice President Business Development and is responsible for the capture of major new business opportunities with DoD system Prime contractors, US DoD and Foreign Ministries of Defense. ) The Business Development Director will partner with the VP BD to identify appropriate areas for specific focus but not limited to:

·         Supporting the C3 & Aviation Manufacturing business at all C3 & Aviation Manufacturing site locations in the pursuit and capture of the 5 year plan,

·         Identifying and developing new and additional markets to grow the plan and beyond,

·         Coordinating with the C3 & Aviation Manufacturing Site Leads to ensure synergy and support of the C3 Manufacturing and site objectives, and

·         Providing a “Single Face” for C3 & Aviation Manufacturing to targeted internal and external business partners for EMS solutions.

·         Responsibilities include all aspects of opportunity identification, qualification, pursuit and capture phases, development of Win Strategies & Price to Win Recommendations, identification and development of Partnering/Teaming opportunities, accurate Bookings/Sales Forecast inputs, and responsible for meeting agreed upon annual bookings objectives. 

·         Serve as Capture Manager and/or Proposal Manager, attend Domestic and International Exhibits & Trade Shows and support the SBU and Segment business development initiatives

Basic Qualifications

·         Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and a ten to fifteen year successful track record in Aerospace/Defense Industry Business Development.

·         Frequent travel is required and the individual may need to have a Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain this clearance. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and is required to meet the eligibility requirements (US Person) for access to ITAR/EAR technical data.

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge

  • MBA and former military experience are a plus.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Access; and be a strong team player, motivated, assertive, self-starter with "Can-Do" attitude and Mission-focus. 

·         Performance qualities include: Working in collaboration and cooperation for the success of the team and the overall organization, capability to make sound decisions in the absence of detailed instructions, the ability to develop innovative and timely solutions to problems, an excellence in multi-tasking, and the ability to leverage current customer relationships and build new ones.

·         Successful track record in Aerospace/Defense Industry Business Development. Strong established relationships in the Aerospace/Defense Industry.

·         Experience and knowledge to understand the customer’s customer.

·         To be able to look beyond the initial opportunity by linking thoughts to create bigger solutions than the customer initially know they need by knowing their customer needs.

·         Knowledge of the DoD/FMS/FMF Offset program.
