DRS C3 Systems, Inc., Fort Walton Beach, FL provides engineering, manufacturing, and support of defense and aerospace systems for sea, land, air, and space use.  Our product and service areas include electronic control and monitoring systems, aerospace material handling systems, simulation and training systems, radar systems, aerospace support equipment, contract manufacturing, engineering, and product support. 

 

DRS C3 Systems, Inc., employs more than 900 engineers, craftsmen, and specialists in six modern plants that occupy more than 266,500 square feet in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  These facilities include manufacturing, engineering, laboratory and test departments.  In addition, DRS has contract logistics support operations in Europe and the Middle East.

Position Summary

Hands-on supervisor of a high mix low volume CCA machine room that includes the programming and operation of the following equipment:  Reflow Oven, Pick and Place Machine, Solder Paste Machine, and Wave Solder.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Major duties include:

  • Meeting critical schedule requirements, analyzing and monitoring key performance metrics to improve efficiencies, and interfacing directly with the production control, quality, and engineering departments.
  • Will demonstrate support of the production manager’s objectives and be a change agent.
  • Actively maintain a safe work environment for the team and develop back up personnel for all key positions.
  • Assess employee performance and ensure proper training and is provided.
  • Administer a progressive discipline program for team members in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties and tasks that may be assigned on an "as needed" basis.

Basic Qualifications

·         High school diploma or equivalent required; two or four year degree preferred.

·         Three to five years experience in Pick and Place machine operation and supervision

·         Must have experience with the following type of equipment: Omni-excel reflow oven; Samsung Pick and Place; Wave Solder.

·         Solid understanding of SMT components and the methods of pick and place feeder setup used for these parts.

·         Should have an understanding of solder paste technology coupled with SMT stencil requirements and the ability to demonstrate knowledge of pick and place machine programming from CAD file import and be able to manually teach Samsung machine applications using physical PCBs.

·         Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

·         Must have computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

·         Ability to work extra hours as needed including weekend work

Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

Company or professional organization issued certification as a Lean or Six Sigma Greenbelt is desired.
