Team: COLD LAKE ALBERTA WEAPONS RANGE
Leader: Site Manager
Location: Cold Lake Alberta
Purpose:
We currently have an opening for a Senior Field Service Technician at our Cold Lake Alberta Weapons Range. This position consists of first and second line maintenance as well as operations and logistics for subsystems that make up the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range Training System.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
· Operation of the Surface Threat Electronic Warfare (STEW) training System, in support of local 4 Wing Squadron missions, deployed operations, large and small scale exercises. Limited debrief of missions may also be required on a case-by-case basis.
· First and Second Level maintenance of the STEW, TRISS, and power management aspects of the Low Level Communications System (LLC) include fuelling of 9 remote sites, scheduled Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs), unscheduled maintenance up to and including second level repair of these sites, all of their components in whole or with support from third line Mobile Repair Parties (MRP) or possible Sub Contractors.
· Maintenance consists of Radar Transmitters, Diesel Electric generating systems, 24 VDC, 12 VDC and 110VAC power supplies, Microwave and UHF Radio Systems, Infrared and Digital Camera Systems, electronic and computer based components, wiring components for each sys-tem to include Fiber Optic, limited maintenance to High Mobility Multi-wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV) and associated administration, logistic and shop functions that encompass the systems.
· Travel to and from the remote sites will be accomplished via Department of National Defence Helicopter or Company hired Helicopter support, All Terrain Vehicle, or by Company Supplied Trucks if road conditions permit.
· Normal hours of operation are from 07:30 to 16:30 daily, Monday to Friday with the responsibility to operate at surge capacity of 10 hour days, seven days a week for up to a six week duration. Alternating periods of evening shifts required periodically to support night flight missions.
· The company’s reporting chain of command will be through the Site Manager but the position will occasionally have to interact and formally communicate with Department of National Defence personnel and Visiting Forces personnel.
· On occasion the technician will be expected to work alone as an operator for mission support as well as function within the group concept for larger scale exercise scenarios.

· Senior Field Service Technician is required to have the ability to obtain, or currently have, a secret level clearance or equivalent.
Technical Competencies:
· Graduate of electronics assembly course, or Electronics Technician or equivalent
· 8 years related experience in a field service environment
· Understanding of basic electronics, familiarity with tools and test equipment.
· Must be familiar with monitoring of workmanship standards and the use of common hand tools and test equipment.
· Specialty knowledge of equipment in specific areas based upon site equipment requirements may be required.
· Familiarity with basic PC operations, spread sheet software and word processor applications is required.
The successful candidate(s) must fulfill requirements for U.S. International Traffic
in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and
Canadian security clearance to secret.
