Position Description (duties and responsibilities):

Candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the International Zone Fiber Network located in the International Zone, and various locations throughout Iraq.  Duties will include design, installation, maintenance and repair of all layer 2 and layer 3 switching devices to include but not limited to all Cisco routing and switching platforms; Cisco Call Manager and Voice Over Internet Protocol platforms; Cisco PIX , ASA, and other security platforms; Cisco ONS Multi Service Provisioning and Multi Service Transport platforms; SONET, SDH, E1, E3, STM 1, STM 3, STM4, STM 16 and various other layer 2 and layer 3 transmission platforms.  Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

·         CCNP

·         Willingness to travel extensively, sometimes to hazardous duty areas inclusive of South West Asia (SWA)

·         Extensive knowledge of WAN/LAN transmission systems and computer security as implemented by DOD networks.

·         Must have experience developing functional requirements for complex integrated Network systems.

·         Must demonstrate the ability to work independently or under only general directions.

·         Advanced knowledge of communications signal flow and equipment.

·         Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. 

·         Excellent customer service skills.

·         Minimum 5 years experience working with any combination of Cisco 2600, 2800, 3800, 6500, and 7200 series routers.

·         Minimum 5 years experience working with any combination of Cisco 3500, 3750, 4500, and 6500 series switches.

·         Minimum 2 years experience working with Cisco PIX and or ASA series security platforms.

·         Minimum 2 years experience working with Cisco ONS 15000 and or 16000 series MSPP and MSTP. 

·         Minimum 2 years experience working with Cisco Call Manager Series platforms.

·         Minimum 1 year experience working intensely with Solar Winds network management tools and or similar SNMP tools.

·         Minimum 1 year experience working intensely with Cisco Works and or similar LAN management tools.

·         Applicant must be US Citizen

·         Employment will be contingent upon favorable results of a company background investigation and drug screening.

·         Applicant must attend and pass CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) training before deployment to SWA.

Desired Qualifications :

·         CCVP

·         Experience working as VOIP Administrator

·         CCSP

·         CCDA or CCDP

·         Active SECRET security clearance or higher
