Position Description (duties and responsibilities):

Qualified individual will assist in the operation and maintenance of nine VSAT terminals and associated equipment to provide transmission capability for ASC users throughout specific sites in South West Asia, function as a VSAT and Network Administrator help desk support and to support ASC staff.

Individual will provide Help Desk support which services high level military, civilian and contractor personnel.  Daily duties include but not limited to processing of trouble tickers, creating user accounts in Active Directory, creating email accounts, monitor, track and close help desk tickets.  Interview users to evaluate problems and perform troubleshooting through in person and via phone, and prepare standard statistical reports.  Individual will assist with relocation requests and firewall modification requests ensuring that help desk personnel troubleshoot equipment to the hardware level.  Day to day projects operations and reporting information to the project lead and being responsible for the administrative needs of the help desk function as required. Duties also include installing, configuring, troubleshooting and cataloguing, end users computers, printers and scanners; testing connectivity between the Ethernet switch and the end user computer, configuring domain access, email client, Internet client and core software applications on end user computers and performing other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Must understand basic networking concepts
• Individual must understand signal flow, end to end configuration diagrams and operate specialized text equipment
• Experience in design, development, testing and evaluation of computer based systems
• Experience in the analysis and design of business applications on complex, large scale systems including experience in data base management concepts.
• Knowledge of state of the art storage and retrieval methods, is required, as well as the ability to formulate specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing, debugging of computer software
• Extensive travel inclusive of hazardous duty areas including South West Asia
• Bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• US citizen
• Must possess at minimum an active SECRET clearance or higher, meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security investigation
• Employment contingent upon favorable results of a company background investigation and drug screening
