Position Summary/Relocation Benefits
The International Division of DRS Defense Solutions, headquartered in Stuttgart and with offices in Europe, Southwest Asia, and the U.S. engineers and delivers communications solutions in support of military operations and security cooperation activities across Europe and Africa. Our solutions span the C4I domain and include long-haul communications, commercial SATCOM, network managed services, KM, EoIP, NOC services, IT, IA, O&M, and other professional management services.
We seek a Global Broadcast Service (GBS) Theater Information Manager (TIM) to add to our satellite services contract located in Stuttgart Germany. This position will report to the Senior Program Manager, assist with preparation of customer reports, and provide and general technical support for GBS assets. Some travel may be required (<20%).

Duties and Responsibilities
The GBS Theater Information Manager will be responsible for responding to requests for equipment orders, data entry and update of system information/location/etc., and general technical support for GBS assets. The TIM will operate a web-based application to validate and manage the GBS broadcast of video and data files for real-world missions/exercises in the EUCOM AOR. He/she will validate, process, and submit satellite downlink beam location schedules in support of EUCOM and cross-COCOM missions. Must have general analytical ability to operate and maintain GBS software and hardware equipment assigned to EUCOM AOR
Knowledge, skills and abilities required by the position:
- Knowledge of military and commercial satellite communication systems and architectures and of IT infrastructure, security and protocols.
- Knowledge of and working familiarization of GBS equipment and information management practices required to manage and prioritize broadcast content and bandwidth allocations.
- Ability to provide technical support, advice and guidance for the implementation and fielding of satellite communications system.
Duties will include:
- Draft and electronically submit service requests/renewals to Regional SATCOM Support Center for:
- Long-haul telecommunication services
- Military satellite access
- Leased commercial satellite services
- Review and/or draft and/or submit GBS/SATCOM briefings for:
- Future EUCOM funding requirements
- Memorandums of Agreement (MOA) that require coordination with other commands/services/agencies
- Joint Program Office (JPO) operational documents (e.g., CONOPS, ORD)
- Situational briefs for O-6 and General/Flag officer levels
- Operational and technical working group conferences and meetings
- Participate and represent EUCOM at weekly branch meetings and weekly GBS team phone conferences.
- Prepare and respond to internal and external EUCOM command information requests (e.g., taskers/data calls)
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of closely related experience.
Associates degree (Bachelor's degree preferred) in engineering or technical field and/or one or more current certifications in information technology systems administration, LAN/WAN, CISCO routers, etc.
Demonstrated experience (4 or more years) with SPAWAR or EUCOM customers with satellite communications programs and technical operations in the Middle East and Asia locales, or Africa.
General familiarity with Military SATCOM operations.
Proficient in using MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to travel 15-20% worldwide for meetings, conferences, training, testing, and/or other GBS coordinated events.
The candidate must possess excellent communication and presentation skills and demonstrate an ability to build close relationships with supporting departments and peers.
US Citizenship is required.
Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates with an active DoD SECRET security clearance are preferred.
