Duties and Responsibilities
· Work closely with LAN, WAN, Tech Control, Voice O&M, and Help-Desk engineers or technicians while maintaining the current Voice architecture and PBX services
· Interface with CENTCOM, DISA, vendor and other outside technology or policy support organizations
· Provides training in the use of equipment and supporting software to end users
· Apply understanding of IGX and other telecommunications software and hardware to diagnose problems, determine appropriate course of action, provide complete follow-through to successful resolution or escalate to appropriate support technician and/or department
· Maintain documentation of configurations, diagrams, all user requests, repairs and reported issues including cause, resolution and preventative actions
· Install new voice communications systems including phones and wiring as well as related system programming, utilizing requisite change and configuration management guidelines
· Provide solutions, discussions and status of normal business processes
· Contribute to the overall design and design improvements of the network infrastructure as it applies to IGX, various PBX and VOIP technology
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· A Minimum of 6 years experience with voice networks and telecommunications equipment in an environment utilizing Nortel, Avaya, and/or REDCOM IGX
· Understanding and experience with MLPP and building ISDN, E1 and T1 trunks
· Basic understanding of the function to connect PBX trunks to SIPR and NIPR networks
· Understanding of DISA STIGs and related policies as they pertain to Voice communications
· Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
· CCNA Voice, CCVP Certification or a corresponding number of years experience with related equipment, networks and VoIP technology
· Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools
· Experience with ticketing systems and processes
· Experience with Cisco networking, Call Manager Express, CUOM
· Excellent customer service skills and demeanor
· Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems
· Ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment with short timelines
· Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations
· Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects
· Ability to perform and participate in a team oriented environment
· Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers
· Meet overseas medical deployment qualifications
· Applicant must be a US citizen
· Must also possess at a minimum an active SECRET clearance or higher, meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security investigation.
