Position: Registered Practical Nurse

Department: 4C Medical Inpatient Unit

Status: Temporary Full-time (until approximately November 2010)

Hours: All shifts

Site: Oakville

Responsibilities:

Work as a Registered Practical Nurse providing nursing care for acute medical and cardiac/neurology patients.

Qualifications:

Halton Healthcare Services is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible.

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and BCLS certification
• Recent acute medical experience an asset
• Strong patient assessment skills required
• Required skills include aseptic technique, suctioning and wound care
• Experience with medication administration required
• Organized and with ability to work in a team environment
• Caring, compassionate, customer focused attitude towards patients and families
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
• Good team player with positive attitude
• Evidence of continued learning.
• Must be physically able to do the job, which involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record

Salary: $20.48  - $25.61 per hour

First consideration will be given to members of the bargaining unit in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
