Position:  Patient Care Manager - In-Patient Medicine - 4E, 4W

Status:  Full-Time

Site:  Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital site 

Hours:  37.5 hours per week plus on-call nursing administration rotation

Responsibilities:

Responsible for implementing clinical program priorities, daily operations and professional practice of two in-patient medical units (4 East and 4 West) at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital site. The Patient Care Manager plans, implements and evaluates activities related to the provision of high quality patient care services and programs, selects, hires and develops staff, works collaboratively with the team, and maintains fiscal responsibility.   The Manager also undertakes clinical, teaching and staff development responsibilities for the unit staff.

Qualifications:

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses
• BScN required
• Masters preparation or evidence of substantial completion preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a patient care manager or educator in an acute care in-patient medical unit required
• Thorough understanding of the clinical needs of general medical patient required
• Current R.N.A.O. membership preferred
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent human resource management skills including recruitment and retention of staff
• Excellent budgeting and financial management skills
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to support team building
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required

Salary:  HAY 07
