Creative Director


The main purpose of this position is to create strategic, creative and effective communication solutions that meet and exceed our clients' business objectives. This position reports to the Executive Creative Director, Marketing Communications.         

 

As our Creative Director:

 

·          You are a story-teller by nature, either abstractly, or literally.

·          You oversee the creative development of ideas for communication platforms, and conceive of the framework that an advertising or promotional assignment could explore, and eventually decide should adhere to.

·          It is your responsibility to develop work on every program that supports the macro direction for the department. Your role extends to directing other creative resources required to execute the vision on a given program, or helping to direct production managers and/or account people to the appropriate resources.

·          You can be visually or literary based, and may act and serve as Art Director or Writer on the program, but are better utilized as a director and strategist on the overall Creative strategy and execution of the platform.

·          Your experience covers the full gamut of marketing and advertising, and your portfolio includes both B2B and consumer facing solutions.  Nice to have would be broadcast experience.

·          Working with internal and specialized external writing and visual resources, you are tasked with leading the creative process, and developing key presentations to clients and partners. Quality of work is directly reflective of your role, and that extends to anything client or public facing.

·          Your purview extends to influencing the structure and approach to a suitable creative strategy. You are expected to be media-neutral, though specialty in an area is expected and encouraged. It is your sole responsibility to gather, process and disseminate to anyone creative or account-side the explicit brief from client, challenging any assumptions about strategy, prescription of tactics, and offering leadership in designing and constructing a creative platform that delivers against the business objectives, balancing priority of communication objectives, and maintaining sensitivity to budgetary considerations.

·          You will seek approval from the ECD, and buy-in from the account team, managing any gaps in strategy or execution from the original brief on the business objectives at hand.

 

As our Creative Director you also have:

 

·          Strong Automotive background

·          Strong time management and organizational skills

·          A minimum 4 years experience as a creative director in an agency, design firm or similar environment

·          Demonstrated portfolio of outstanding creative work

·          A degree or diploma in a related discipline preferred
