Education: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university and a Canadian accounting designation (CA, CGA, or CMA).

The Office of the Auditor General of Canada is seeking audit project leaders to work on audits and examinations that provide objective information, advice and assurance to Parliament.
The Office of the Auditor General of Canada conducts audits of most federal government operations. These audits provide members of Parliament with objective information to help them examine the government's activities and hold it to account.
As an audit project leader, you will be exposed to a variety of exciting assignments. You will lead a team responsible for conducting financial audits of government departments, agencies, Crown corporations, or of territorial governments or international organizations.
Working at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada will allow you to perfect your skill set and knowledge to become a very competent audit professional.
We are looking for individuals with a proven track record. You have demonstrated knowledge of audit principles, standards, practices and techniques, new auditing methods, financial management and computer applications. As well, you have knowledge of contemporary management concepts.
As project leader you will be involved in all phases of an audit -- planning, examination and reporting. You are able to examine and interpret legislation, evaluate internal control procedures, elaborate and develop audit strategies and supervise the auditors carrying out the examinations.
You have superior communication skills to gain respect and influence, to discuss audit findings, to write reports, and to establish excellent relationships with client organizations.
We need individuals who are able to adapt to changing conditions and shifting priorities.
Teamwork is important at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. Project leaders must show they can assign work to meet realistic deadlines, and delegate responsibility to team members by conveying clear expectations, priorities and milestones. Mentoring and coaching is important to assist team members in learning and applying methodologies and tools. The project leader provides on-the-job training and coaching.
