The Integration Project Director is responsible for providing leadership and management to a large, complex integration plan involving a network of three hospitals. This plan is made up of multiple projects that will cascade through brand and leadership integration, clinical and functional integration, system integration, corporate integration of programs and policy, over a three year period. The Integration Project Director establishes governance, practices, and tools, at both the program and project level. They facilitate the development of charters, plan the projects in alignment with organizational priorities, risk management and organizational readiness. This is done in conjunction with strong communication, change management, project leads and subject matter experts.

Reporting to the VP, Strategy and Public Relations, the Integration Project Director will collaborate with key Executives and leaders to focus on the measurement of success of the integration, while providing guidance, direction and support to the Project Managers assigned to the integration. A highly visible and political role, the Integration Project Director will have strategies to execute in a demanding healthcare setting, crossing over three sites.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Project Director for complex integration program resulting in a new three-site healthcare system
  2. Accountable to execute on a vision for an integrated hospital organization
  3. Accountable for project/program management practice, change strategies and cost benefit analysis
  4. Delivery on project milestones while respecting and maintaining regular hospital operations
  5. Operational readiness resulting in managing change in a deliberate way
  6. Relationship management with Executives, Clinical Leadership, Physicians, project leads and subject matter experts (Board as required)

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Must have 10+ years experience at the Project Director level, including experience in leading large scale integration of organizations
  • Excellent people leader at all levels of the organization
  • Strong strategic instincts and ability to create following in execution both through formal reporting and informal leadership
  • Must have knowledge of the complexity of the healthcare system that demonstrates an understanding of stakeholders, public accountability and patient experience
  • Resilient change leader, comfortable with political environments where they are able to create a sense of calm with both ambiguity and conflict
  • Ability to address all stakeholders (including physicians/clinicians) with courage and honesty, even when faced with contentious issues or resistance to change
  • Possess a University degree with PMP preferred
  • Conversant in various tools for management, project planning, and time tracking, e.g., MS Project, MS Excel, MS Visio
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous
  • Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task with a high degree of focus and work to tight timelines
  • Strong ability to negotiate with and influence others
  • High level of initiative and self-direction
