DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete ownership and management of numerous aspects of the implementation process for complex clinical systems including: a. System selection; b. Contract review and Project Kick-Off; c. Project planning and financial forecasting; d. Resource scheduling and management of key resources; e. Schedule execution and management; f. Management of system implementation and integration activities; g. Manage roll-out and go-live process; h. Transition to Support Team post-go-live; i. Manage all internal and external project interfaces across teams and organizational levels,including client & executive levels. - Manage, multi-product implementations across multiple concurrent engagements including leading & coordinating separate project teams.
- Primary initial assignment will be to lead the implementation of CPOE & eMAR across inpatient services including managing team, assessing technical and leading change management. Requires partnering with Professional practice, medical and clinical informatics.
- Integrate multiple project plans into a single program plan for engagements as needed.
- Manage the stakeholder & user relationships, including management of scope, expectations, status and issues follow-up.
- Actively manage customer satisfaction and customer quality requirements and issues.
- Assure compliance and adherence to established processes and project methodologies.
- Accurate and timely resource forecasting across all projects consistent with St. Michael's Hospital policies and procedures.
- Adeptly identify, prioritize, communicate and drive resolution of critical issues and risks to mitigate negative impact to customer satisfaction, schedule or expense forecasts.
- Effectively manage through difficult situations with clear timely decision making and incisive and creative problem solving.
QUALIFICATIONS: - An undergraduate degree in nursing, health administration/ sciences, informatics or related field, coupled with a minimum of six years of healthcare experience serving in a leadership role at a hospital, vendor, or consulting company.
- Minimum of two years of experience with managing complex clinical information systems projects.
- Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
- Conversant in various tools for management, project planning, and time tracking, e.g. MS Project, MS Excel, and MS Visio.
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex, or ambiguous.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Knowledge trends in Canadian health informatics.
- Knowledge of clinical information systems.
- Exhibit excellent organizational and teamwork skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment including group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
