Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise all shop personnel and oversee the administrative responsibilities of the shop
• Perform as a working leader
• Promote a "team building" approach and be an integral part of the team
• Coordinate with VP Operations and manage and prioritize all shop projects
and
work/schedules assignments
• Perform quality assurance inspections and safety audits
• Monitor work progress to ensure all jobs progress through the shop and are
completed in a timely manner
• Provide mentorship and training as required and monitor the employees' performance
• Coach/counsel employees on performance and development of job skills
• Provide clear and frequent communication to all employees on company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety and security procedures
• Responsible for clean and sake working conditions of facilities and equipment
• Perform administrative functions such as required
• Ensure all required job travelers/reports/inspections/service records are completed as required by the individual job or process control procedures.
• Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
• Assist in maintaining and ordering parts and supplies
• Assist machinists with diagnosis or troubleshooting of problems i.e. set-up, machining, finishing, etc
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, assign jobs and monitor progress
• Adhere to and implement company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as required

• Able to work independently and take initiative without immediate supervision

Experience/Technology needed:

Thermal Spray Process Knowledge- HVOF, Plasma, Arc-Wire, Fused Coatings. Good operational knowledge and experience with manual lathes, grinders and other shop equipment. Knowledge of ISO 9001:200 Quality System.
