Industrial Sanitation Technician

The Industrial Sanitation Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment in the production, warehouse and common office areas for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and orderly appearance.  


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Periodically clean overhead structures and equipment, following established cleaning guidelines.
  • Move pallets from warehouse area to be cleaned, and return in proper location after sweeping and mopping the floor. 
  • Pre-clean, dry clean and/or wet clean equipment following established cleaning guidelines.
  • Maintain change rooms and break room in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Operate high pressure cleaning and drum cleaning area.
  • Ensure there is no foreign material on any surface in the production and warehouse areas.
  • Transport production waste material, recyclable solid waste and general plant trash.
  • Keep the warehouse in a clean and orderly manner on a daily basis.
  • Acts as a point of contact for third party companies who provide waste disposal and pest control services.
  • Keep entrances clear of snow during the winter.
  • Bring all safety issues, concerns and violations immediately to a supervisor’s attention.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices in the plant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.




  • Prior experience as a sanitation worker in a food production facility.
  • A basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is essential.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and freely lift, bend and reach on a continual basis.
  • Ability to safely operate a tow motor truck, overhead work lift or lift truck cage.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
