The Tim Horton Children's Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to providing an enriched and memorable camp experience for children and youth who come from economically disadvantaged homes. THCF is currently recruiting for qualified:

Program Facilitators                                             

Locations:

Camp des Voyageurs Tim Horton in Quyon, Quebec

*Bilingual in French & English is a requirement for this site.*

*Contract will go from January – April 2010*

 

Tim Horton Children's Camp in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia

*Bilingual in French & English is considered a strong asset for this site*

*Contracts will go from February – May 2010*

 

Tim Horton Memorial Camp in Parry Sound, Ontario

*Contracts will go from February – May 2010*

 

Summary: Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Facilitator implements recreational and educational programming for youth, school, and corporate groups. The Program Facilitator provides excellence in customer service and promotes safety for all participants. Residential accommodations are available.

 

Qualifications:

·         Bilingual in French and English an asset

·         Current Standard First Aid and CPR or higher

·         Minimum 21 years of age

·         Experience working with children

·         Ability to work flexible hours

·         University or college degree/diploma in related area of study preferred

·         NLS, Bronze Cross Life Guard Certifications preferred

·         High Ropes Challenge Course Certification (CUI) preferred (or ability to obtain)

·         ORCKA flat-water / tripping certifications preferred (or ability to obtain)

·         Ability to live on site for an extended period of time (10 days)

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Facilitate Community Partnership Programming as set out by the Program Manager.

·         Create opportunities for group participants to experience success.

·         Be a positive role model for young people including teaching and setting a good example in areas such as proper manners, goal setting, accountability, respect for the environment, and respect for each other.

·         Ensure program areas, equipment, and supplies are in good repair, are kept clean and organized, and are available for use in adequate supply.

·         Report any incident/accidents within the workplace and/or recognized hazards and complete appropriate documentation.
