Description:

Reporting to the Senior Buyer, Equipment Purchasing, this position will be responsible for price negotiations, vendor maintenance and forecasts within the buyout equipment category.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience with managing vendor relations, price negotiation including equipment upgrades and program enhancements and tendering to the market place.
  • Strong technical knowledge of food service buyout equipment and the vendor base
  • Ability to read blue print specifications, offer operational assessment and interpretation of equipment to floor plan design.
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving, mathematical, and communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with purchasing, customs, freight and warehouse functions as required.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and deal with large volume of work.
  • Proficiency in word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), Access and all standard programs.
  • Experience in preparation of budgets, SAP reporting and product execution an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of suppliers ensuring best price, quality and service and reputable supply chain practices.
  • Effectively implements in accordance with policy and approval procedures, accurate product and pricing changes within the various systems using appropriate work flow documents.
  • Liaises with suppliers, regions, store owners and head office departments ensuring communication and the resolution of problems in a timely fashion.
  • Provides timely information to department regarding vendor, product and price changes as necessary and brings resolution to product and supplier complaints to ensure effective support to project co-ordinators. 
  • Liaises with Operations, Design and Construction for all store equipment updates and changes.
  • Prepares equipment cost estimates for store budgets and equipment changes.
  • Tracks and analyzes problems and recommends corrective actions as required
  • Monitors inventory reports, provides support to Distribution Replenishment Clerk to determine maximum and minimum stock levels.
  • May initiate stock order requests, blanket orders as directed by Senior Buyer Equipment Purchasing during national rollouts and other requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains allocation and provision records for all used and obsolete equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate records of budgeted and additional costs, order quantities, forecast items as required

Must Have Skills
