TSX Markets

TSX Markets is responsible for facilitating all aspects of trading on both Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange with dependable trading services and systems - trading over 4,200 securities and averaging over 340 million shares per day. The group is the primary point of contact within Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for brokers/dealers, institutions, and related vendors.

TSX Markets has three areas of focus:

  • Market Services - Market Services is responsible for the business operations of all new and existing trading and market data related products. In this capacity, the division is responsible for customer service management for participating organizations, members and access and market data vendors for both the senior and junior marketplaces. Additionally, the division is responsible for business and technical support including: management of stock appointment process, market maker performance program, market quality enforcement, vendor certification, external test planning and execution, product implementation planning, Market Data contracts and exhibit approvals, Market Data Audit and risk management program and all other market operations activities.


  • Sales and Marketing - The business development teams - made up of Canadian Sales and Team U.S.A. - are responsible for managing the relationships with our primary trading customers, including broker dealers and investment managers. Key goals and responsibilities of this group include raising the profile of TSX in North American markets, promoting revenue-generating customer ideas within TSX, signing on new participating organizations (POs) as well as supporting existing POs' own customer-creation activities (thereby increasing order flow to the TSX), and finally selling TSX products and services to both new and existing customers.


  • Product Development - This group is responsible for identifying new trading-related products and services that meet the strategic and business criteria of TMX Group and the needs of market constituents. They are also responsible for overseeing the complete product cycle for all trading related products, from evaluation through to implementation.
